Briggs and Stratton is an American company and are the world’s largest producer of air-cooled petrol engines for outdoor power equipment. Their engines find their way into several products such as lawn mowers, portable generators, pressure washers and water pumps. They also own Victa lawn mowers, a high profile Australian brand with manufacturing retained in Australia by Briggs and Stratton.
Qanstruct has recently been appointed by Goodman to design and construct the new headquarters for Briggs and Stratton which comprises a 12,231m2 warehouse facility complete with recessed docks and covered loading with a large 1500m2 office over two levels. The facility will also comprise a number of customer integrated works including a test centre, auditorium and archive. Located in Goodman’s Oakdale South Estate in the west of Sydney, the project incorporates many environmental initiatives including LED lighting, rainwater harvesting and a 100kW solar PV system.
The project is scheduled for completion in August 2018.
