Kraft Foods is one of Australia’s best loved brands and this purpose-built logistics facility in Melbourne’s West is a key element in the company’s integrated logistics strategy, serving as the centre for the warehousing and distribution of its snacking brands, including iconic products like Vegemite.
Set on some 4.6 hectares on a high-exposure site at the Paramount Industrial Estate at Derrimut, the 23,455 m2 complex features a large warehouse with extensive racking, modern docks and loading and unloading facilities, a guardhouse and generous areas of hardstand to allow for truck movements. The complex also includes comfortable and modern office facilities and plenty of asphalt car parking.
As well as providing plenty of ambient storage space to stock its popular brands, the facility is conveniently located just off Melbourne’s Western Ring Road, providing a convenient ‘hub’ for the distribution of product across the State. It has allowed the company to amalgamate a number of previously dispersed functions under one roof, delivering ongoing efficiencies.
Working closely with Kraft on all aspects of development, design and construction, Qanstruct delivered the project on budget and within the very tight agreed timeframe.
